Celebrate Juneteenth with an inspiring evening of dance, film, and conversation at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara. On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 6:00 pm, Emmy Award–winning choreographer and movement artist Jon Boogz will lead a dynamic program that honors Black artistry and innovation in movement. Joining him are internationally acclaimed street dancer Lil Buck and three longtime collaborators.

The event features live dance performances, screenings of award-winning short films—including the first live performance of MOTHER I SOBER, a Boogz-directed piece set to Kendrick Lamar's music—and a Q&A session moderated by Lil Buck.

Doors open at 5:30 pm, with the performance beginning at 6:00 pm. Following the show, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, enjoy a reception on the Paseo Nuevo Arts Terrace and explore the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara's exhibition Arte del Pueblo.
